TDM is a substantial rare color diamond wholesale dealer globally. By using its buying power to purchase directly from mines or it’s extensive network of industry professionals, TDM is able to provide color diamonds to both jewelers and private clients alike. TDM has numerous satisfied customers, a proven track record, and only sells fancy color diamonds (FCDs) certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
The Diamond Market has been selling Fancy Color Diamonds (FCDs) since 2010.
Most diamonds are purchased by the owner directly from mines. Other diamonds may be purchased in bulk from wholesalers or purchased through a private transaction. Rough diamonds are cut and polished by carefully selected craftsmen in Tel Aviv and then delivered to the TDM home office where designers and master jewelers create the custom jewelry for our clients.
Worldwide demand for FCDs has been steadily increasing, especially over the last 5 years due to strong demand from China and India. Auction houses attest to the popularity of fancy color diamonds and routinely offer FCDs to the public in hundreds of auctions throughout the year.
TDM’s main office is just outside of Miami, Florida, and has affiliate offices in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv, with over 100 sales associates located in 28 states throughout the United States. TDM has no retail stores.
FCDs are the rarest form of natural diamonds, found only in about 30 mines around the world. For every 10,000 carats of diamonds mined; usually only one carat is graded as fancy color.
Yes, however for safety purposes the inventory is strategically stored in different places around the world.

All TDM Fancy Color Diamonds include GIA certification. They are delivered to your home or bank, where you may retain physical possession.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the premier diamond certification organization in the world. When you buy or sell your diamond, the certificate is the best way you and others can be certain of its authenticity. All of TDM’s diamonds include a GIA certificate.
We encourage independent appraisals; however, many jewelers offer appraisals without the proper training, credentials, or real-world experience to properly assess the value of your color diamond. Even so, many qualified appraisers have only occasionally appraised FCDs due to their rarity. Ask for their credentials and experience before engaging their services. Qualified appraisers for FCDs will typically hold the GIA Graduate Gemologist designation.
TDM does not project rates of return for the diamonds it sells. Appreciation of fancy color diamonds increase at variable rates, depending on demand and the size/color/rarity of the jewelry. Just as a stock or bond’s value can change depending upon the market, the value of a FCD is impossible to predict at any given time in the future.
Auction houses keep careful records of sales, which are online and available for anyone to peruse. Since TDM supplies retailers, we know we are offering color diamonds significantly under current retail value, but each diamond is unique. Our clients must evaluate for themselves the best hold time before resale and may contact TDM or its agents for guidance. We generally suggest a 5-10 year holding period, though diamonds that are the “rarest of the rare” have great potential to experience dramatic appreciation. Of course, past performance does not guarantee future results.

Due to the very high value of the stones, they are not shipped before funds are wired. Pictures of significant purchases above $150,000 and accompanying GIA certification are usually available in advance.
Though color diamonds are available for a minimum purchase of $20,000, the more attractive auction results are usually realized for purchases of at least $30,000-$50,000 and above. Exceptions to this rule, however, have been known to occur.
No. FCDs are not permissible for IRAs or other retirement account. Since a FCD is not considered an investment, you must purchase your diamond outside of an IRA or other retirement accounts. Most all other forms of ownership are permissible. Consult with your tax advisor for guidance on your particular situation.
If you are seeking costume jewelry for stepping out on the town, there are many synthetic stones that have appeal. If you are seeking an asset to potentially diversify your portfolio, reduce volatility, or appreciate in value over time, only natural color diamonds have historically fulfilled these goals. To reason by analogy, you can buy a print of a Picasso or a Rembrandt at a fraction of the price of the authentic painting, but it has very little value in comparison to the original.
Color Diamonds are often sold through international auction houses for a fee. Sotheby’s and Christie’s, for examples, conduct approximately 200 combined auctions a year.
